About This Site & the Author

I’ve actually had “CandyBill” as a website for quite a long time. I’m not even quite sure when I got it (sometime in the late 90′s, I believe) – but it’s been a while.

The name is derived from a character from one of my favorite authors. I won’t tell you which book, or what character. You can figure that one out on your own :)

Yes, this is really me.

That aside, this site is pretty much about me. This site is my personal site – my journeys. Now, as I said, I’ve had this site for a very long time – but you’ll see there’s not much here. It’s gone through many incarnations, and it’s never really been “home” for me. I do web design as my profession, and it’s hard to keep a personal blog when you’re also using “the system” for work as well. But I’m giving it another shot.

The main reason for doing so: I’ve allowed my work to overtake my time. I rarely make time for myself anymore. However, as of October 1, 2009, I went on sabbatical (for reasons that are partly attributed to the time issue, but not completely), and in the last few months I’ve found myself doing more and more personal things that I’d like to talk about, but don’t have a place on my business site. Some things do, but most don’t. So I’m revamping the site to make a home for the personal stuff.

You’re going to see pretty much anything I can vomit out of my head – from recipes and weight loss to spiritual exploration to sanity-keeping techniques to diaper changes to knitting projects. I’m a wife, a mother of three, a former pastry chef, a business owner and a person who really likes to give a lot of herself – at times too much. So you’re gonna see a lot of whining and complaining (and probably a bit of cussing), but also a lot of (hopefully) helpful stuff, too. (I always aim to remain more positive than negative though – this isn’t a hate-fest!)

So enjoy – I hope you find something here that interests or amuses you, and please feel free to converse with me – I do enjoy interaction!
